FOODVENTURES (2) - Desserts (again)

So, maybe I only ever eat desserts (lol jk) I eat proper food also, but I have a sweet tooth. Maybe the next post on food will not revolve around desserts, instead it would be on proper food (no promises though)

Pictures of these waffles seem to appear everywhere, be it my explore page on Instagram or Snapchat. So, my college friends and I decided to pay The Owls Café @ Bukit Jalil a visit. My first impression was "wow, this place is flooded with people even though it's situated so far away from the heart of PJ" Maybe it was because the café was a little bit small, hence it couldn't accommodate that many people. After trying two of their waffles, I fail to understand the hype of it. It was an okay waffle, with quite yummy Earl Grey ice-cream (Rebecca) but, it wasn't good enough for me to drive all the way to Bukit Jalil just for it. The hunt for amazing waffles is still on!

Every single time I walk into a shopping mall, the aroma of freshly baked pretzels never fails to tempt me to walk to Aunty Anne's and get some pretzels, but I always end up having the same one. So just the other day, I heard about chocolate drenched pretzels. No idea what rock had I been living under for the past 19 years, but I'm so glad I gave these a shot. I'm the kind of person who only eats dark chocolate. So I was really amazed that the chocolate used was dark chocolate and how to pretzel were not too soggy although it was a little messy when I ate it. New favorite snack now!

I enjoy good ice-cream, rich creamy ice-cream that are not too sweet because its already cold, I don't want to feel like I have to drink a few jars of water after devouring such a great creation.
Recently, I stumbled upon IDC (Ice Dream Café) and I am definitely not disappointed with that they had to offer. To be frank, I'm a sucker for those clean interior design, and I just fell for the aesthetic of this ice cream parlor. It's a combination of whites and earthy tones, so so beautiful. And their ice cream flavors are just amazing. It's so unique that it makes me want to try every single one of them. Seeing that I paid a visit to this place just before Merdeka, and they were having a promotion so RM8 for two scoops!

I had the vintage strawberry and cream & black doris plum and creme fraiche ; a really nice combination of sweet and sour

Flat lays (2)

How long has it been since I last talked about flat lays? Thought it would be a good time to blog about this again cause I am still as hyped as I am before about it. For those who are new to this term, its basically a way to show your things off in the most photogenic manner, while playing around with the colors, textures, sizes etc. of your items. Sounds like it could be done within 5 minutes? Well, you might want to think twice before you jump to your conclusions. In my point of view, laying out the items is not tough, its getting the right lighting and angle to bring your things to the center of attention that will make you sweat. Enough of trying to explain what flat lays are and get to the whole point of this post. I've got a trip to New Zealand coming up soon, and thought that I should give flat lay another shot, so this time around, my flat lays are the travel flat lay, very much inspired by taramilktea . And for those who wants to see flat lays that are not done by the new kid on the block, do check out my previous post on flat lays as I had some examples laid out here.

I'm going to start off the flat lay with some accessories which I was torn between while packing because most of my accessories were statement necklaces and well, they tend to get tangled up together if I didn't pack them properly. Also, I had laid out some of my travel essentials (no matter the weather of my destination, I will not leave these behind).

Lipsticks - NYX & MAC ; Lip balm - The Body Shop ; Brow pencil - Shu Uemura ; Shades - Forever 21 ; Travel journal - Typo ; Watch - Tissot ; Other accessories - Lovisa , and not forgetting my polaroid camera, some good reads and my trusty ol' Canon 550D(used for picture taking)
And a more thorough essentials!

Happy & Angel (2)

To be honest, the only time I really get to spend time with my dogs are the weekends, where I have time to bring them on a really long walk, play a game of fetch, letting them roam around the garden while we get busy with our daily routines. And well, I'm just really grateful that I have them in my life. They make a lot of things more worthwhile; like coming home after a pretty long day in college, to see them wagging their tails by the door, welcoming you home. Both of them are adopted, Angel, when she was a puppy and Happy when he was three; and now, Angel's already 9, and Happy had turned 7. They can be such a handful sometimes, but they're the most amazing companions. Hence, after their baths, they would have to get their photos taken, cause they look the cleanest then. And also, I'd like to have their photos taken even if they hate it (Happy literally walks away if he sees me with the camera) before they get old, cause hey, nothing lasts forever, and I don't want to have regretted that I didn't take enough photos of them. And the plus point from taking numerous photos of my dogs is that they're like moving subjects, so its a really good way for me to practice my photography skills cause lets face it, we've all seen my photos, I'm clearly an amateur. Slowly, I'm moving on to portraits, and I'll share some of them here when I actually get to it. Hopefully not too long from now, I'm aching to try new perspectives!

On the other hand, I don't think my dogs are that good in front of the camera. I've seen how photogenic some dogs can be. Unfortunately, mine are not. But if you were to ask which dog likes the camera better, it would definitely be Angel, and I've got the photos to prove it.

,

this is how she looks 24/7, clueless always

this is how Happy is, most of the time, just give him a good belly rub and he's more than happy already
